The Long Beach Lions and the California
Football Association have taken huge strides
in joining forces with Grammy Award winning
Recording Superstar Patti Labelle along
with her manager Mr. Dasmascene Pierre
Paul. The Lions will be a part
of one of the first true East/West
Coast Football Leagues in the United States.
In 2005, The Labelle Community Football
League will produce two different divisions
and will expand to the Southern region
(Atlanta, Georgia) and the Southwest region
(Houston, Texas) in 2006. Currently,
there are possible plans to also expand
to the Chicago Illinois area. The LCFL
West will consist of 12 teams, all
of whom will compete in the powerful CFA while
the LCFL East will have their divisional
play with 14 teams. Following the
completion of both Divisional seasons,
there will be a Labelle Super Bowl in
January 2006 which is stated to be played
at the beautiful Home Depot Center in
Carson, California which may also be televised
on TV One (nationally) who is currently
hosting Patti Labelle's TV show.
The LCFL, will have its own official game ball which
all teams will utilize in its games to
give us our own professional identity
throughout Minor League Football.
The LCFL, which is a subsidiary of the
La Belle Community Association, will
operate business under a non-profit 501 (C)
3 status which allows major sponsors to
sponsor the league and assist all participants
of the league for post-season travel,
championship rings, expenses, etc.
The entire LCFL family is honored to have
the CFA represent the Western region and
have great intentions and specified goals
in place to enhance young men in their
professional and personal lives as well
as providing young men the opportunity
to advance their athletic careers through
competition at the Minor League level
which ultimately will further their dreams
of a paid professional football career. More
